About Top Trusted Products
Independent Reviews for Smarter Buying Decisions
Who We Are
Top Trusted Products is an independent consumer product review publication serving readers across the United States and Canada. We were founded on a simple belief: that people deserve honest, well-researched, plainly written reviews — free from manufacturer spin, paid placements, and vague recommendations.
The people behind this site have spent over 50 years combined buying, using, and living with consumer products in the categories we cover — kitchen appliances, consumer electronics, home goods, health and wellness products, and outdoor gear. That experience shapes the editorial judgment behind our research: which questions matter to real owners, which specs are meaningless in practice, and where a cheaper alternative genuinely holds up versus where the premium is justified. We bring that perspective to every review — not as lab testers, but as people who have navigated these purchasing decisions for decades.
Our reviews and guides are researched and written with AI. It gathers manufacturer specifications, independent lab tests and published reviews, and owner feedback from major retail platforms, and drafts the article from that research. Every article passes automated quality checks before it publishes. Since October 2026, every new or updated article also passes a separate automated fact-check against the saved sources it relies on; we are re-checking older articles. Articles are not individually reviewed by a person before they publish. Most products are not tested by us. When we have used a product ourselves — one we bought, or a sample a manufacturer sent us — the review says so directly.
What You Get Here
A lot of buying advice online is a single opinion, or a list nobody checked. We built Top Trusted Products to do the slower work for you:
- Many sources, one clear answer. Each review brings together independent lab tests, published reviews, the manufacturer’s own specifications and what owners report over time, so you don’t have to read ten sites to find where they agree — and where they don’t.
- Ratings that follow the evidence. Every score comes from our own consistent formula, which balances how well a product does the job it’s bought for, its value for money and how it compares with the competition. Our guides use the same scores as our reviews.
- Claims you can trace. Since October 2026, every article we publish or update keeps a dated copy of each source it relies on, and its claims are checked against those copies by a separate automated fact-checker: quotes must be exact, figures must match their source, nothing may be stated more strongly than the evidence, specs must belong to the exact model reviewed, and every product we compare against must be a real, currently sold model. We’re re-checking older articles the same way.
- Prices we keep checking. We re-check US Amazon prices for the products we’ve reviewed regularly, usually daily, and our price tables show the most recent price we’ve recorded. Prices change often, so always confirm the current price on Amazon.
- Updated when things change. We revisit articles when products, prices or the evidence change, and we correct errors when readers point them out.
How each step works is set out on our Review Methodology page.
Meet the Editors
Sarah Mitchell and Marcus Webb are pen names used, for privacy, by the real people behind Top Trusted Products. They set our research standards, maintain the automated checks every article must pass before it’s published, and handle corrections. They designed the research and fact-checking process every article goes through, and they review every correction request a reader sends. Each article is researched and written with AI under those standards; its byline names the editor whose category it covers. When one of them has used a product personally, the review says so.

How We Review Products
We apply the same methodology to every review we publish: structured research, AI drafting from that research, and automated checks before anything goes live. Every article shows our affiliate disclosure at the top and explains how it was made at the end.
For a full breakdown of our research process, rating criteria, and update policy, see our Review Methodology page.
How We Use AI — Honestly
AI plays a meaningful role in our research process, and we think that is a good thing — when done responsibly. AI tools allow us to analyse hundreds of user reviews, cross-reference specifications across multiple sources, and produce more comprehensive research than a small editorial team could achieve manually.
At the same time, AI systems make mistakes — misreading data, using outdated information, or producing plausible-sounding claims that are wrong. Our automated checks catch many of these, but not all. So every review lists its sources and links to the manufacturer’s product page so you can check our findings, and we correct errors when readers point them out.
US and Canadian Coverage
We publish reviews for both the US and Canadian markets. Where a product is sold in Canada, we publish a Canadian edition of its review under our /ca/reviews/ section, with Canadian dollar pricing and Canadian retailer links.
Canadian visitors are automatically directed to Canadian affiliate links via Amazon’s OneLink geo-routing technology.
Our Commercial Model
We earn revenue through affiliate commissions — primarily through the Amazon Associates programs for the US and Canada. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
We do not accept payment for reviews or rankings. Our Trending Picks page features products in Amazon campaigns that pay us a higher commission, and says so on that page. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Corrections Policy
If you believe a review contains a factual or technical error, please tell us. Use our Contact page to submit a correction request with the specific claim and a reliable source. A person reviews every request, and we update content where warranted. Read our full corrections policy.
