Buy the IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 Gen 11 if you want a 15-inch Windows laptop for schoolwork, browsing, video calls and streaming, with a color-accurate 120Hz touchscreen, a number pad and RAM you can upgrade. Testers got from eight to more than 14 hours from it depending on the workload, and it runs cool and keeps its speed on battery. Its Core 7 350 brings middling performance, so heavy apps and demanding games slow it down. If an Intel chip isn't a must, PCWorld found the IdeaPad Slim 5x better equipped, and the lighter MacBook Neo lasted longer in Notebookcheck's battery test.

Overview
A big 120Hz touchscreen and a battery that lasts a working day are what this budget 15-inch laptop does best. The 2026 IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 Gen 11 (model 15IWC11) is one of the first laptops built on Intel’s new Wildcat Lake chips. The version on Amazon pairs a Core 7 350 with 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 1920 x 1200 touchscreen, the configuration most reviewers tested. It’s aimed at students and home users whose days are documents, browsing, video calls and streaming.
On the outside nothing has changed from the 2025 model; inside, the Core 7 350 replaces last year’s Raptor Lake chips. Notebookcheck found it more efficient than older budget chips, particularly at idle. As of October 2026, the Amazon listing comes from a third-party seller and ships with Windows 11 Pro instead of the Home edition reviewers used.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 Gen 11 Performance
For a student’s day the chip is enough. In Techlicious’s use, a few dozen browser tabs, streaming and quick photo resizing caused no trouble, and only a 4K video export made it stumble. Undemanding games such as Hades 2 also ran smoothly.
Heavier work shows the limits: Notebookcheck puts its speed roughly on par with the three-year-old Core i7-1355U, and its ratings place the MacBook Neo well ahead for both CPU and overall system performance. In PCWorld’s PCMark 10 run it landed near the bottom of a group of budget and mid-range laptops, and it scored 114 in Cinebench 2024’s single-thread test, which PCWorld uses as a stand-in for how quick Windows feels. Graphics are the bigger gap, with only two Xe3 cores. PCWorld got Cyberpunk 2077 to 83 frames per second at 1080p low only with Intel’s XeSS upscaling and frame generation switched on, while Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which lacks XeSS, ran at 16.
The single memory slot holds graphics back further: Notebookcheck’s unit ran its RAM in single channel and expects faster graphics from Wildcat Lake laptops with dual-channel memory. What the chip does well is stay consistent. PCWorld saw the same Cinebench result plugged in, on battery and at the top performance setting, and three back-to-back Handbrake encodes showed no slowdown. Notebookcheck recorded relatively cool surfaces under load and fan noise peaking at 43.8 dB(A), and found it stays quiet for longer than last year’s model.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life is one of its strengths, though not a class-leading one. Results depend on the workload. In Notebookcheck’s Wi-Fi browsing test it ran for 11 hours 41 minutes; in the same test the MacBook Neo lasted 12.9 hours and last year’s Slim 3 with a 60Wh battery 17 hours. PCWorld got 12 hours, seven minutes from a looping 4K video. Techlicious’s PCMark office test at 50% brightness lasted 14 hours and 24 minutes, which it calls a full day’s work with time left for a movie or two.
Heavier office work drains it faster. PCWorld’s Procyon productivity loop, which it considers the more realistic figure, ended at eight hours 23 minutes, and PCWorld judged its video result good on paper but behind the competition. These results come from the 50Wh battery; Lenovo also offers a 60Wh pack on some models.
Lenovo’s Rapid Charge Boost claim of two hours of use from a 15-minute charge held up: from empty, PCWorld’s unit reached 29 percent in 15 minutes, which it worked out at just under 2.5 hours of use. It charges through its barrel connector or the USB-C port; Notebookcheck’s review unit came with only the barrel-type adapter in the box.
Touchscreen Display
This touchscreen panel is the one to get. It’s a 15.3-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and an anti-glare finish. Notebookcheck measured up to 423 nits and 99.3% sRGB coverage, and it recommends this panel over the base 60% sRGB screen, whose colors are noticeably less vibrant.
PCWorld measured 416 nits, enough for bright rooms and sunny windows but not for working outdoors. Its unit also needed the refresh rate set to 120Hz by hand; otherwise it ran between 30 and 60Hz. Notebookcheck measured slow pixel response times, which may be too slow for fast-paced games, and detected no PWM flicker when dimming.
Keyboard, Ports and Build
The chassis is plastic, which keeps the weight down to about 1.59 kg (3.51 lb), and Lenovo says it passed 21 MIL-STD-810H test items. Testers differ on how it feels. PCWorld found no excessive flex but called the plastic a bit cheap, and Notebookcheck says the unchanged design is falling behind newer budget laptops such as the MacBook Neo. Techlicious, by contrast, liked its sleek, lightweight design.
Testers split on the keyboard. Techlicious found it comfortable and typed at its usual 70 words per minute, while PCWorld found the keys plastic-sounding and less springy than Lenovo’s better keyboards. There’s a narrow number pad, and Lenovo offers a keyboard backlight only on some models.
The ports cover the basics but not speed: the single USB-C port runs at 5Gbps with DisplayPort 1.2, the HDMI 1.4 port drives a 4K monitor only at 30Hz, and this configuration has Wi-Fi 6 rather than Wi-Fi 7. Upgrades are possible: one SODIMM slot takes up to 32GB of RAM, and Lenovo lists the SSD slot as the short M.2 2242 size. Notebookcheck counts the lack of full-size M.2 support as a con.
The 720p webcam has a physical privacy shutter; its image is fine for everyday video calls but somewhat grainy and soft. The 2W stereo speakers can fill a small room, though Techlicious heard hollow bass and congested vocals at full volume.
How Does It Stack Up Against the Competition?
The MacBook Neo is the budget laptop testers most often hold this one up against, and Lenovo’s IdeaPad Slim 5x is the Snapdragon alternative in the same 15.3-inch size.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 Gen 11: Worth It for a Big Touchscreen on a Budget
It’s worth buying for students and home users who want a 15-inch Windows laptop with a large, color-accurate touchscreen, a number pad and RAM they can upgrade, for documents, browsing, video calls and streaming. It runs cool, keeps its speed on battery and lasts through a full day of light work. As of October 2026 it costs more on Amazon than the MacBook Neo and about the same as the IdeaPad Slim 5x, and Lenovo quoted PCWorld a lower launch price for this configuration, so it’s a better buy on a discount.
Look elsewhere if you edit video, play anything beyond light games or run heavy apps all day: its middling performance and two-core graphics hold it back there. PCWorld, which called it underwhelming, found the IdeaPad Slim 5x the better-equipped buy and suggests most buyers would probably do better with a 2025 Lunar Lake, Ryzen AI 300 or Snapdragon X laptop near this price. Lenovo’s spec sheet gives the Slim 5x an aluminium body, Wi-Fi 7, faster USB-C ports and HDMI 2.1. Expert Reviews also found its battery life impressively long. If a 13-inch Mac suits you, the MacBook Neo costs less on Amazon (October 2026), weighs 1.23 kg (2.7 lb), has a 1080p camera and a brighter 500-nit screen, and lasted longer in Notebookcheck’s Wi-Fi test, though it has 8GB of memory.
